The long awaited trip to Mombasa Port by Upper primary classes came. By 7;30 am they were all assembled at the school compound with their questionnaires in hand. The journey started at 8am in the morning on Thursday 13th July 2017.

The journey was smooth and safe, we arrived at the Ports main gate few minutes before 11 am. We signed our gate pass with the security at the reception office. They welcomed us warmly. We drove again through the busy port to the KPA Offices, a distance of about 15 minutes from the main gate.

We followed the directions and instructions as directed by the port staff who was accompanying us, we had to verify our arrival in the office receptions, we were assigned several tour guide, we conducted a successful interview. The staffs really tried much to answer unlimited question from our pupils. They explained bit by bit about the Port, its functions and all the activities that take place there.

The interview took about one hour, having no other questions to ask, unfortunately our pupils did not get a chance to enter a ship, due to strict safety measure required. We proceeded to our buses and went to the pirates beach to enjoy the rest of the day there. We took our lunch there, and thereafter pupils had a chance to interact with the environment.

We left the pirates beach at 3pm in the afternoon, the journey back to school was safe. We arrived at 5; 30 pm. The pupils indeed learned a lot, this will remain a day to recon to them.
